Three 10
A curated hangar of the everyday iconic — assembled in the spirit of a Czech pilot who flew Spitfires from RAF Duxford, and the family who has kept watch since 1960.
The first Vindis
was a pilot.
Frank Vindis took off from Duxford in the summer of 1940 — a young Czech in an alien sky, flying a Supermarine Spitfire against the Luftwaffe. No. 310 was the first Czechoslovak squadron formed within the Royal Air Force; thirteen pilots earned the right to wear its crest in the Battle of Britain.
Twenty years later, on the ground in Cambridgeshire, Frank opened a small Volkswagen dealership in Sawston. The same eye for craft. The same regard for machines built by hand and trusted with one's life.
What grew from that quiet 1960 forecourt is now Three Ten — a curated hangar of pre-owned motor cars, named for the squadron that gave Frank his wings.
The Squadron
Formed at Duxford on 10 July 1940 — a sortie south of Fenstanton. Motto: "Vždy připraven" — "Always ready."
Aircraft
Issued the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I, later re-equipped with the Spitfire Mk.II and Mk.V — the aircraft Frank flew.
Family
Frank (1960) · Gary & Nigel (through 2013) · Jamie (today, Managing Director).
Each car arrives catalogued,
not merely listed.
We approach every motor car as our founder approached a Spitfire: documented, inspected, and prepared with care. What follows is a working census of the hangar — considered pre-owned cars from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Toyota and others, each chosen to be driven daily and remembered fondly.

The Squadron
The first Czechoslovak fighter squadron of the RAF is raised on 10 July — Czech and Slovak airmen who fled occupied homelands to fight on. Frank Vindis is among them.
The Forecourt
Frank opens a Volkswagen dealership in Sawston, Cambridgeshire — the seed of a family business that will grow across six counties.
The Generation
Frank's sons — both raised on the forecourt — lead the group with the same regard for craft, family, and the long view. The fleet of marques expands.
The Succession
Gary's son Jamie steps up as Managing Director. The family keeps the watch. Nigel is remembered.
The Hangar
Formerly Bentley Cambridge, the Fenstanton showroom is curated into a hangar of rare pre-loved cars — and named for the squadron that gave Frank his wings.
The Watch
Sixty-five years on. Reputation 800 Award. One family. One squadron. One hangar — for those who choose the extraordinary as their everyday.
Service worthy of an airworthiness certificate.
A motor car bought from Three Ten is a motor car welcomed back — not as a transaction, but as a returning aircraft to its home hangar. Most makes. Trim levels honoured. Two-day service windows for our owners.
